Class Notes & Recordings

Everything from your classes now lives in one place — my tradroom page.

tradroom is a portal built for Irish traditional music tutors, and I have moved every one of my classes over to it. Whether you come to me for private lessons, a weekly group class or a week at a summer school, your notes and recordings are waiting for you there.

Getting started

  • Once you join a class, I will add you to it in tradroom and you will receive an email invitation to set up your account. That is the only setup you need to do.
  • Sign in at gearoidkeane.tradroom.ie and you will see every class you are enrolled in.
  • If your invitation has not arrived, or you cannot see a class you are expecting, get in touch and I will sort it out.

After each class

  • I will upload a copy of the notes to tradroom, along with a recording of the tune.
  • The notes are available in staff notation with the ABC notatation below the staff.
  • Recordings are played at dance/regular speed, followed by slow speed including emphasis on ornamentation and chords etc, followed by a medium pace.

Why everything is in the one place

  • You no longer need a different link and password for each class. You sign in to tradroom once with your own account, and everything you are entitled to is there together — every class, every tune, every recording.
  • Because it is your own account rather than a shared password, your resources follow you from one term or one class to the next.
  • They are just as easy to reach on a phone at a session as on a laptop at home.

How long your access lasts

  • Access does not expire for those attending private classes.
  • Access for those attending summer schools is available for 6 months after the final day of the summer school.

If you are having trouble

I hope that this process is not only easy to use but also of benefit to those who attend my classes. If you are having difficulties accessing your notes/recordings, please use the contact button at the top of the page to send an email to me.
